Medical and pharmaceutical activities directly affect human health. For this reason, the legislation requires an appropriate licence to operate in these fields.
Under the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Protection of Citizens’ Health”, medical activities may be carried out only by legal entities holding the appropriate licence.
This means that a clinic, medical centre or other organisation providing medical services must be registered as a legal entity and hold a valid licence authorising it to conduct medical activities.
Pharmaceutical activities may be carried out by legal entities and individuals holding the appropriate licence. The applicable licensing requirements and conditions must be observed depending on the type and scope of the activity.
A licence provides the legal right to carry out the relevant activity. Medical or pharmaceutical activities may not be conducted without the appropriate licence or outside the scope specified in that licence.
The procedure and conditions for issuing licences are determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
