The activities of private medical institutions in Uzbekistan are regulated by current legislation. In order to protect public health, ensure sanitary and epidemiological safety, and maintain strict control over high-risk areas, certain types of medical activities are prohibited in non-state medical institutions.
In particular, private clinics are not allowed to diagnose and treat infectious and quarantine diseases requiring urgent anti-epidemic measures, toxicological diseases, rabies, tuberculosis, leprosy, and certain mental disorders.
In addition, carrying out disinfection measures in infection zones, performing abortions, organ transplantation and organ procurement, as well as conducting bacteriological and virological research on Group I–II infections are prohibited.
Furthermore, non-state medical institutions are not permitted to conduct medical-labor, military-medical, forensic medical, forensic psychiatric, and sanitary-hygienic examinations.
