Uzbekistan is continuing reforms aimed at supporting the private sector in healthcare. An important step in this direction was the Presidential Decree No. PF-74 dated May 5, 2026, “On Additional Measures to Support the Private Sector in the Healthcare Sector.”
According to the decree, starting from July 1, 2026, non-governmental medical organizations will be allowed to provide healthcare services within the framework of the state health insurance system.
Private clinics and other non-state healthcare institutions will be able to provide medical services funded by the State budget in all areas covered by their licenses.
In addition, unified base tariffs will be introduced for compensating treatment expenses for both public and private medical organizations. This is expected to create a healthier competitive environment, expand patients’ access to healthcare providers, and improve the overall quality of medical services.
Experts believe that these reforms will significantly increase private sector participation and contribute to the further expansion of the state health insurance system in Uzbekistan.
