Every citizen receiving medical services has rights protected by law. Understanding these rights helps patients protect their interests, build trusting relationships with healthcare professionals, and receive quality and safe medical services.
Patients have the right to be treated with respect and compassion by medical and support staff, to choose their physician and healthcare institution, and to receive complete information about their health condition, diagnosis, as well as their rights and responsibilities.
Patients may also voluntarily consent to or refuse medical intervention, request confidentiality of medical information, and obtain consultations and opinions from other specialists when necessary.
In addition, patients have the right to undergo examinations, receive treatment and care in conditions that meet sanitary and hygienic standards, and use medical and other services covered by voluntary health insurance. If harm is caused to a patient's health during the provision of medical services, the patient has the right to seek compensation in accordance with the law.
Patients are also entitled to engage a lawyer or another legal representative to protect their rights.
If a patient believes that their rights have been violated, they or their legal representative have the right to обратиться to the administration of the healthcare institution, a higher supervisory authority, or a court.
