All Functions Related to the Licensing of Medical Activities Will Be Carried Out by the Center
Uzbekistan continues to implement consistent reforms aimed at improving the quality of healthcare services and ensuring patient safety. In accordance with Presidential Resolution No. PQ–170 dated 5 May 2026, titled “On Additional Measures to Improve the Quality of Services Provided in the Healthcare Sector,” significant changes are being introduced to the medical licensing system.
Under this Resolution, starting from 1 July 2026, the Center for Licensing and Accreditation of Medical Organizations will serve as the authorized working body responsible for the licensing of medical activities. Acting on behalf of the Ministry of Health, the Center will issue medical practice licenses, review applications, organize expert assessment procedures, and perform all other functions related to the licensing process.
These changes are expected to make licensing procedures more systematic, transparent, and efficient, ensure a unified approach across the sector, and strengthen oversight mechanisms for the quality of healthcare services. Most importantly, the reforms are designed to improve the safety and quality of medical care provided to the public and enhance the accountability of medical organizations.
As the authorized working body in the field of medical licensing, the Center will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and integrity of Uzbekistan’s healthcare system.
